We all know that person who wanted to be some kind of artist when they were younger.

They had a strongly held belief that they could meaningfully participate in artistry as their life’s mission.

However, as all young creatives with ambitions will ultimately realise, time, in the end, reveals whose path to artistry is destined, and whose inner drive for artistic ingenuity cannot be denied.

But in this ‘time’, where young creatives pursue their ambitions to become emerging artists, they at some point must face the paradox of education, negotiate an identity after education, flirt with the idea of a corporate career alternative, convince loved ones of the worthiness of their ambitions, and battle the all too common imposter syndrome.

This fact makes the road to artistry a daunting one for every emerging artist.

So on this episode of the Yellow Pill Podcast, we explored this daunting and precarious road with a buddy of ours, David a.k.a Davecreates.

London-born and Essex-raised, Davecreates is a creative with eclectic taste and versatile expression. His music has been featured on notable platforms including BBC 1Xtra, No Signal and Rapzilla.

We explored David's journey into making music, his identity, balancing the creative tension between artistic aspiration and economic pressures, love & relationships, personal stressors & mental health, and finally the release of his new album Amor 🔥 (LISTEN TO THE ALBUM)
