REAL QUICK before we get into Michael Keaton and his insane hairline fighting crime in the streets of Gotham, VHS Village and all of 70mm: Danny, Proto, producer Dale, and myself want to talk about how YOU can fight crime in your community. George Floyd was an innocent black man murdered by a white cop in broad daylight. The systemic racism and police brutality in this country should disgust you.

And if you're white like us it's time to use your privilege to help others. Visit blacklivesmatter.com or blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/ for more information on how you can support your black communities and consider donating to bail-out funds and the ACLU. Amplify black voices that you follow on Twitter and Instagram. Educate yourself and watch movies made by black creators. There is a handy Letterboxd list showing right now in this podcast chapter. Change starts from us listening and learning, and speaking up when you see injustices happening. That could mean speaking up when your aunt Karen says "ALL lives matter" and trying not to tell her to shut the off up and explain to her that the black community is hurting right now, or it could mean reaching out to your black friends to ask how they are and how you can support them, or it could mean marching down the streets with your community protesting police brutality.

It's also OK to change and grow and learn and feel embarrassed when given feedback on how you're not supporting someone. What I'm saying is, you don't need a poofy mullet like Bruce Wayne to make a difference. It's not enough to just NOT be a racist. It's time to speak up and do more.
