In conversation with songwriter and performer Talal Kontar. We talk about the stages that shaped his artistic identity, beginning with his early influences of Arabic classics during his childhood to the Pop music of the '70s, '80s, and Spanish music after he had moved to Barcelona, Spain. We also talk about how he transitioned to songwriting full-time when he returned to Lebanon and how he ended up working with Fadl Shaker, Jad Shwery and eventually with Ragheb Alameh, Fares Karam and many more artists. We also cover Talal's approach to songwriting, which heavily favors music and melody over lyrics. A collaboration with Talal seems like a natural next step .. stay tuned ; )
