Dying to self to find life - cruciformity in the Tao te Ching (chapter 22) - a podcast by Corey Farr

Episode fifteen looks at chapter 22, which is all about choosing to embrace your brokenness and emptiness in order to find real life. The parallels to the teachings of Jesus and the fundamental Christian principle of death/resurrection means that this episode is the most specifically theological and even "preachy" (hopefully in a good way!) that I've done.

In this episode, I start with sharing part of my story, running through a list of major crossroads in my life where I had to choose to die to myself, my desires, and my plans to pursue the voice of God calling. The rest of the content is divided into two parts:

  1. Chapter 22 part 1 - Finding wholeness and life through death to self and acceptance of brokenness and emptiness
  2. Chapter 22 part 2 - The importance of a life of total humility to have the most positive impact on the world around you
