Is God in the universe or out of it? (chapter 21) - a podcast by Corey Farr

Episode fourteen looks at chapter 21, which is an incredibly mysterious one that talks about the cosmic nature of the Tao. In fact, this whole episode is one of the most philosophical and abstract ones I've done to date.

In this episode, I start with some thoughts about how easy it is for us to forget that everything in the whole universe is spiritual and soaked in one way or another with the fingerprints of God. The rest of the content is divided into four parts:

  1. Chapter 21 part 1 - The Tao as both "elusive and intangible" as well as the source of all things. We cannot truly understand God, but we can understand God through creation at the same time we understand creation through God.
  2. Is God in the universe or out of it? - A reading from my journal
  3. Chapter 21 part 2 - Lao Tzu's big question: "How do I know all this? Because of this." What does that even mean? The fact is that there are certain ground-level questions - in science and in spirituality - that we can never really successfully answer. We can only deconstruct so far, and that's okay.
