Episode thirteen looks at chapter 20, where Lao Tzu gets intensely personal for the first time. He talks about the great challenge of choosing to break from his culture in so many ways in order to walk more in tune with Tao/the fundamental reality of the universe - or what we might call God's inherent design.

In this episode, I start with some thoughts on how divided our world is, particularly during this election season, and how it has become totally unacceptable to admit "I don't know" when it comes to serious issues. The rest of the content is divided into two parts:

  1. Chapter 20 part 1 - The "epistemological assault," what can we know and how can we know it? What is the difference between good and evil?
  2. Chapter 20 part 2 - Lao Tzu gets all emo and talks about how hard it is to be different from everyone else
