Episode nine looks at chapters 12 and 14, which talk about the dangers of the over-saturation with content and stimulation and, conversely, the opaque/mysterious nature of the divine.

In this episode, I start with a story about some time I spent in a private prayer retreat that, before I ever read the TTC, helped me discover some of the truths in it. The rest of the content is divided into three parts:

1. Chapter 12 part 1 - "The five colors and five sounds," the diminishing returns of sensory pleasure
2. Chapter 12 part 2 - Presence and community: the answers to the disturbing question of technology
3. Chapter 14 - The indefinable Tao and the paradox of the divine (and Christ as the image of the invisible God)
