In Podcast Episode 116, “Leading with the Heart of a Servant,” Kim discusses the humble service of young David and the challenge to serve others issued by Jesus. Jesus definitely flipped the script on the earthly view of leadership. As humans, our human tendency is to seek to power over others. Yet, Jesus said to be a true leader you must be a servant.
The primary scripture text for this episode is 1 Samuel 16:14-23 with the key verse 21:
“So David went to Saul and began serving him. Saul loved David very much, and David became his armor bearer.”
