SHOW NOTES:

In Podcast Episode 224, “The Lord Is My Rock,” Kim discusses the song of David’s praise contained in 2 Samuel 22 (also in Psalm 18). When have you taken time to ponder the comfort in knowing the Lord is your rock, your fortress, your savior, your shield, your place of safety, and your refuge?

Our focal passage for this episode is 2 Samuel 22:1-4 with the focal verses of 2-3:

2 He sang:“The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; 3 my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. He is my refuge, my savior, the one who saves me from violence.

WEEKLY ASSIGNMENT FEATURE:

Additional Resources and Scriptures:

  • The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. (Psalm 18:2)

  • 2 Samuel 22/Psalm 18

  • 24 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. 26 But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. 27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.” (Matthew 7:24-27)
