David Fitzpatrick never considered himself an activist or a public speaker. But as a father, he never thought he would witness the horror that he did on November 30, 2021.

On that day, a student brought a gun to Oxford High School. He killed four students and wounded several others. Fitzpatrick stood anxiously in the school parking lot awaiting word of his daughter. Though she made it out safely, his family and many others will never be the same after that day. That's why they gathered in downtown Oxford on June 11, 2022, to demand that something be done to prevent further tragedies like these from happening.
