A three-time Olympian in the four-man bobsled, Steve and his team became the first Americans to win a World Championship title in 50 years in 2009. A year later, they won gold for the first time in 62 years for the U.S. at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games.

Steve and his sister, Dr. Leigh Mesler Parise, founded Classroom Champions and have grown it into an international organization affecting change in classrooms and donating needed technology. As of 2017, Classroom Champions Olympians, Paralympians, and college student-athletes have mentored more than 19,000 at-risk students across the U.S., Canada, and parts of the Caribbean and Central America.

In this episode, Steve will take us on a journey through his quest to escape "normal" and win an Olympic gold medal.
