Monique Chavez, Owner of Southwest CannEvents, LLC has over 16 years of experience in harm reduction, event production, project management and anything legal. Born and raised in Albuquerque, NM, Monique is a two-time graduate from the University of New Mexico, earning both a BS in Biology and a Juris Doctor. Monique’s passion for drug policy reform grew from her early experiences in the New Mexico nightlife community, as the former co-founder of Students for Sensible Drug Policy, through an internship with the Drug Policy Alliance, and as the former founding director of New Mexico NORML. Monique is passionate about changing drug laws and policy on both the local and national level, as well as improving small businesses throughout the state of New Mexico.

After attending the University of New Mexico, Anthony Ortiz set a goal help people navigate through the cannabis program through the creation of Kurple magazine, a publication that enables patients to make educated decisions about their health, show them how to enter the cannabis program, and provides quality information about the benefits of using hemp and cannabis. Kurple magazine helps people who are searching for alternatives to pharmaceutical drugs, find a much safer way to alleviate his/her debilitating conditions such as Anxiety, Pain, Depression, ALS ect.
