A native Chicagoan, Roy Schultz joined the United States Army in 1993 to earn money for college. After being honorably discharged in 1996, he returned home and enrolled at Northern Illinois University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in finance. Schultz joined LaSalle Bank as a credit analyst in 2000 and was eventually promoted to a division manager in 2007. In 2008, Schultz purchased a small equity position in American Chartered Bank, a privately owned boutique commercial bank that was headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois until it was subsequently sold in 2016.


Roy Schultz is currently a Senior Vice President and Division Manager with Cornerstone National Bank & Trust Company in Schaumburg, IL. As a member of Cornerstone’s commercial banking team he is focused on providing commercial banking services to privately owned companies and commercial real estate investors.


Cornerstone offers a full suite of commercial banking services including lines of credit, equipment loans, real estate financing, and treasury management services. Cornerstone National Bank & Trust Company was founded 20 years ago with a unique model that includes extraordinarily high customer service standards, cutting edge technological capabilities, and localized decision making.


In addition to his role at Cornerstone, Roy serves on the board of directors of the Northern Illinois University Executive Club, an organization dedicated to raising scholarship funding for students interested in attending NIU. Roy also serves on the board of directors of the Fox Valley Patriotic Association, a non-partisan not for profit dedicated to raising funds for the construction of a historical Flag Day monument in Batavia, IL. Roy is married to Lisa Schultz and they have lived in Schaumburg for over twenty years with their two daughters, Emma and Elizabeth. In addition to his professional and civic responsibilities, Roy enjoys several hobbies including triathlon training, traveling, and reading.
