Few releases set a true music fans heart to pitter-patteing more than an awesome new box set.  Whether it is a career spanning collection or one that focuses on a small part of band’s career or even a single album given the full blown, in depth treatment.  Box sets are an important part of record label sales and there is some really interesting stuff that is being made, targeting the hard core fans.

We talk about the effort that goes into creating a box set (I have several coming out in the upcoming months including the new Thin Lizzy box, the career spanning 50th Anniversary Uriah heep box, a collection of the Almighty’s albums and several more).  What sort of things motivate you to buy a box set?  Here are some of the ones we discussed…

  • Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band Live/1975-85
  • Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon
  • Simple Minds – New Gold Dream 81/82/83/84
  • Guns & Roses - Appetite for Destruction
  • Many others!

Ace - the Music Man is the manager of Thin Lizzy, Uriah Heep and others and has extensive experience in the music business, tour management, business management and merchandising, and one of the biggest music fans you'll find. Tune in for some valuable insights and the hardcore low down.
