Lawyer confirms 'tortured' author has fled Uganda - a podcast by BBC World Service

The lawyer for prominent Ugandan author Kakwenza Rukirabashaija, who has accused the authorities of torturing him while he was in detention for insulting the president and his son, confirms that he has fled the country.

The International Court of Justice has ordered Uganda to pay the Democratic Republic of Congo $325m in reparations for atrocities committed between 1998 and 2003.And after more than a decade battling it out in the courts, a South African inventor has finally won a legal battle against mobile phone company Vodacom, over a messaging service he created.
