We’re back! This week, we’re taking a look at women in sport and why they get paid less. It comes down to a few factors. The quick answer is capitalism. Have you been noticing a theme here?

Owners of franchises in professional leagues view their teams as investments and until they start generating enough revenue, salaries will remain low. It sucks but that’s how our world operates. Men’s leagues have had many years to build an audience for their respective sport and bring in that sweet, sweet dough, whereas leagues for women are relatively new.

I don’t get into specific numbers because it’s not about the numbers, it’s about how, as a society, we are not ready to take women as serious professional athletes.
