Born and raised on the North coast of Ireland, Max has been interested in patterns, nature, and genetics since he was a kid, eventually earning his PhD in computational biology. He decided to pursue a career in music in 2010, letting his love of production and his interest in science intertwine through live AV shows like 2015’s Emergence and this year’s light field installation, Aether. At the time of this interview, Max was readying a performance for Berlin’s new 4D Sound venue, Monom, where this episode was also recorded.
