A Just Cause - Voices Behind the Wall - The Voices of the Innocent - a podcast by AJC Radio Spotlight
from 2018-09-19T00:00
A Just Cause discusses what happens when the wheels of justice trample unbridled over the rights of American citizens.
Our Special Guest for tonight's show is Antoine Day, who was a budding musician when his life changed. On September 1, 1990, Thomas Peters and James Coleman were shot while shooting craps outside a liquor store. The men were taken to a hospital, where Peters died and Coleman was treated and released for a gunshot wound in the back. Day and a codefendant were arrested eight days later after Darrell Gurley, a nephew of Peters and witness to the crime, told police they were the shooters. Both were found guilty sentenced to concurrent prison terms of 60 years for murder and 25 years for attempted murder.
A Just Cause is currently campaigning for "FreeTheIRP6," who are wrongly imprisoned in Florence, CO for a crime they didn't commit. Read full story: www.freetheirp6.org.
