Editor-in-chief Shawn Kennedy and clinical editor Betsy Todd present the highlights of the October issue of AJN. The authors of our next article, “Original Research: Journalists’ Experiences with Using Nurses as Sources in Health News Stories,” interviewed health journalists to better understand their perceptions of the barriers and facilitators to using nurses as sources. “Workplace Violence Training Using Simulation” describes how an interdisciplinary team at an Ohio health system developed a training program to address workplace violence, which included classroom learning, simulation training for active shooters, and hands-on self-defense techniques.
