Walking long distances has always been a major part of Manish Singh Rawat's life! Growing up in Uttarakhand, Manish was used to the walking up and down the hilly terrain, and walked 7 kilometers to and from school. What he didn't know, is that his experiences growing up would lead him to being an Olympic athlete and one of the nation's most established race walkers!

Having represented India at the 2016 Rio Olympics, he shares his insight into the ways India can continue to build on the country's Olympic success and develop athletes for the future!

Manish won the silver medal at the New Delhi Indian Race Walking championships in 2018 and has been across the globe representing India at the highest level! In the 2015 World Championships in Beijing he finished ninth, clocking an impressive time of 1:22:50 in the 50km event, and earning a berth to the Rio Olympics.
