Whether you know every word to every song or you're still trying to figure out if it's double G or double S at the end, Skegss have been more or less inescapable in the last 18 months and change. Their cult fanbase has poured over into the mainstream, filling out venues across the country and scoring high rotation on triple j. Not bad for three country kids, two of which that grew up not far from the most easterly point in Australia. In the middle of a sold-out run of Metro Theatre headliners in Sydney, the band give us a quick guided tour through their unexpected empire.

Skegss' My Own Mess is out now via Ratbag Records.
