Episode 133: My Friend Azim Zain - a podcast by David James Young

:: ::

This week's story is bittersweet. We're celebrating the musical journey of an incredibly talented young man, whose honest and emotive work was bolstered by a fruitful and prosperous DIY community after other parts of the country - and even the world - ignored him. Azim Zain is a Malaysian-born singer, songwriter, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist that has split his life between Adelaide, Sydney and Canberra. Unfortunately, Azim was recently deported, meaning he can't be with us here in Australia to share this story. Thankfully, we recorded this the afternoon prior to his final show for the time being as a Canberra local, and now Azim's story gets to be heard like it always deserved to. We love you and miss you, mate. Fuck borders.

Special thanks to Mulgara, The Homestead and Adam Buncher.
