Episode 134: My Friend Dave Jenkins, Jr. - a podcast by David James Young

Behind every great solo performer, there is a killer session musician bringing their work to life. Just ask Dave Jenkins, Jr. - after all, he's made a career out of it. From Andy Bull to Reece Mastin, Vera Blue to Kirin J. Callinan all the way up to childhood hero Daniel Johns, the multi-instrumentalist has found himself either behind the kit or serving as the musical director for an impressive bevvy of names. In 2019, he's officially stepping out on his own under the moniker of Not A Boy's Name. So, how did we get here? With nearly a decade of history between us, we sat down with Dave at Forbes Street Studios in Woolloomooloo (AKA Sheep Dunny Cow Dunny) to see how an ambitious kid from the central coast dropped out of music and almost quit the game entirely before bouncing back in the most unexpected way.

Special thanks to Forbes Street Studios, Universal Music Group and Maree Nordone.
