Episode 144: My Friend Georgia Mooney - a podcast by David James Young

from 2019-12-05T21:00

:: ::

Georgia Mooney was a shy, awkward kid with Backstreet Boys posters on her wall and a dream of one day being a singer. Not only has she become one of the most celebrated folk artists in the country as a part of All Our Exes Live In Texas, she's even been able to perform alongside her childhood crushes - and plenty of others where that came from. The multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter's journey stretches from northern Sydney to Perth and all the way across to foggy London town. Over a coffee in Newtown, Georgia shares how her fascination with music lead from clearing the family home just so she could sing all the way to hosting her own songwriters' circle.
