Episode 145: My Friends Cry Club - a podcast by David James Young

On paper, the two members of Cry Club couldn't be more different. Guitarist Jono Tooke, for instance, has been playing in bands for over a decade despite not even being 30 yet - from big-swinging indie to freaky math-metal and back. Vocalist Heather Riley, on the other hand, has never been in a band before. Their mind was always on the theatre (dahling), and that's where it would have stayed had they not been saddled up next to Jono on a flight. Since their first show at the start of 2018, Cry Club have achieved an unbelievable amount of things - just the day before this went live, they were revealed as the number-one most-played artist on triple j Unearthed radio. That's just the tip of the iceberg, too - we get into EVERYTHING on this bumper edition of .Bar Bands

Cry Club head out on the "Robert Smith" tour this January. For information and dates, visit www.cryclub.com.au
