Episode 162: My Friends RAT!Hammock - a podcast by David James Young

from 2020-08-13T22:00

:: ::

With a blend of psychedelia, pop, folk, jangle, indie, shoegaze and rock & roll, RAT!Hammock have assembled and curated a sound that is irresistible and wholly endearing. It's made them a lot of friends and fans along the way, which is always a plus - but this band, like most their age, started out with no loftier ambitions in mind. They're suburban kids, ranging from aspiring metalheads to baby Elvis impersonators. How exactly did they all end up in Brisbane, on a co-headlining tour with Horror My Friend and sold-out signs on the door? It's a long story. A fun one, too. Thankfully, there was some dude with a microphone there to document the entire thing.

Thanks to Rad Management, the Black Bear Lodge and Paul McWhirter.

RAT!Hammock's new single "Word Of The Day" is out now.
