From a whisper to a shout, Sydney band sleepmakeswaves have spent the last decade building up their name as perhaps our finest post-rock export. Theirs is a journey fulll of left-of-centre victories - sold-out shows, top-40 album chart positions and world tours are naming but a few - that are all completely unbecoming of a band that's never done things in a conventional manner from a stylistic standpoint. Their self-described "love songs about delay pedals" have carved out a niche so sharp and distinctive that they're near untouchable in their genre. While on tour with The Contortionist and Tangled Thoughts of Leaving, the band stopped in at Wollongong Uni Bar - and, just after soundcheck, bassist/keyboardist/founder Alex Wilson and guitarist Otto Wicks-Green did something untoward of a post-rock band: they used their voices.

sleepmakeswaves are currently crowdfunding their third studio album. For more information, updates and to see how you can help make this record possible, visit http://pozible.com/project/205169
