Chris Bosh became an NBA Hall of Famer, two-time NBA champion, and Olympic gold medalist, despite having to cut short his career due to a medical condition. He shares his story in the form of messages to younger players in his book, Letters to a Young Athlete. Bosh joins us to discuss his career and authorial debut.


Food historian Dr. Jessica B. Harris and journalist Stephen Satterfield, the founder of Whetstone magazine, join us to discuss their new Netflix original docuseries called "High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America" which premiered on May 26. Based on one of Dr. Harris' books, the series explores African foodways in the U.S. and slavery's impact on American food as we know it today.


Lost In The Cedar Wood, the latest album from British folk musician Johnny Flynn, was co-written with nature writer Robert MacFarlane and inspired in part by the Epic of Gilgamesh. Flynn joins us for a Listening Party.


Chris Thile is a decorated musician and prolific collaborator who has performed with his bands Nickel Creek and the Punch Brothers, plus Yo-Yo Ma, Brad Mehldau, and a variety of artists as the former host of Live From Here. On his new album, Laysongs, it's just Thile and his mandolin. Thile joins us for a Listening Party.
