The Drama Book Shop reopens today at a new location, following a rescue campaign led by a group of Broadway figures including Lin-Manuel Miranda. New York Times theater reporter Michael Paulson joins us to talk about the century-old shop's history and reinvention.

Filmmaker Emma Francis-Snyder joins us to discuss making the documentary short, "Takeover," which premieres at the Tribeca Festival on June 11. The film tells the story of how the activist group, the Young Lords, took over a hospital in the South Bronx on July 14, 1970, to advocate for high-quality medical access for all. The film is executive produced by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage and features archival footage filmed during the takeover. Francis-Snyder will be joined by one of the film's subjects, Juan Gonzalez.

The T.M. Landry College Prep school had bragging rights for getting 100% of their high school seniors into college—most from poor and underprivileged backgrounds. A new documentary premiering at the Tribeca Festival this year, called 'Accepted,' follows four students at the school, before a New York Times report exposed some of the principal’s questionable practices. Director Dan Chen joins to discuss.

Author Yasmin Khan joins us to discuss her new cookbook, Ripe Figs: Recipes and Stories from Turkey, Greece, and Cyprus, a follow up to her acclaimed 2018 cookbook, Zaitoun: Recipes and Stories from the Palestinian Kitchen.

Rodrigo y Gabriela's latest release is The Jazz EP, a set of covers of music by Kamasi Washington, Snarky Puppy, and Astor Piazzolla. The guitar duo joins us for a Listening Party.
