For the second installment in this edition of our "Full Bio" series, Julia Sweig joins us to discuss the Kennedy assassination and how it lead to the Johnsons' ascent to the highest office. Sweig is author of the book Lady Bird Johnson: Hiding in Plain Sight and host of the podcastIn Plain Sight: Lady Bird Johnson.


Artist Gary Panter and editor Nicole Rudick join us to discuss the reprinting of Panter’s 1988 debut book, Jimbo: Adventures in Paradise. Panter has designed album covers for the likes of Frank Zappa and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, won three Emmy Awards for his set design work on the show “Pee-wee's Playhouse,” and it’s said that Jimbo’s styling inspired the look of Bart Simpson.


Poet Ross Gay joins us to discuss Dilate Your Heart, an EP of Gay’s poetry set to new works of music by Bon Iver, Mary Lattimore, and other artists on the Jagjaguwar label. The EP is the label’s first spoken-word project in two decades and the first in a series of releases to mark the label's 25th anniversary.
