Kaitlyn Greenidge joins to discuss her highly anticipated second novel, Libertie, set in Reconstruction-era Brooklyn. The novel is partially based on the true story of Susan Smith McKinney Steward, the first Black woman to become a doctor in New York, and her daughter, Anna McKinney, who inspired the novel’s title character.
