A new film fictionalizes the story of a sting operation launched by narcotics agents against the legendary singer Billie Holiday. Director Lee Daniels and star Andra Day join us to discuss the film, “The United States vs. Billie Holiday,”  which garnered Day a Golden Globe win for Best Actress in a Drama Motion Picture. The film is available to stream now on Hulu.


A woman known as a book critic tries her hand at writing her own novel -- to much acclaim. Lauren Oyler joins us to discuss her debut novel, Fake Accounts, which tells the story of a woman whose life falls apart when she learns her boyfriend is an online conspiracy theorist.


Author, photographer, and critic Teju Cole joins us to discuss curating an evening of music and storytelling with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s as part of the “Sounds and Stories” series, available to stream online.
