Due to easing restrictions in Australia, many were able to celebrate the Spring Festival with family again, but with international travel still difficult, some are spending yet another year a long way from home.

Prompted by the rise in anti-Asian racism around the start of the Coronavirus pandemic, Mell set out to research the Chinese history of Tasmania and made some surprising discoveries. By telling the stories of Chinese-Tasmanian families, Mell hopes to discredit the myth upon which so much racism feeds, that Australia is, or ever was, White.
