As the Mets prepare to welcome the Yankees to Queens for the second installment of this year’s Subway Series, Rob Wolff travels back to take a look at left-handed reliever Dae Seung-Koo’s brief tenure with the franchise in 2005.
A veteran of many years in the Korean and Japanese leagues, the 35 year-old was brought to New York to serve as a LOOGY, and had never recorded an at-bat in his professional career. But his most memorable moment as a Met would come in the Subway Series in an unbelievable at-bat against future Hall of Famer Randy Johnson—and his daring baserunning thereafter.
