After amputation surgery, you will begin the recovery process, which will include a hospital stay of three to five days or longer, depending on the nature of your amputation and complicating factors. Postoperative treatment will include caring for your amputation site, managing pain, preventing infection, reducing swelling, and preventing contractures and fails.
