Bodies of Horror: Episode 21 - Rural Horror - a podcast by Valeska Griffiths & Joe Lipsett

Rural horror often brings up images of “cannibalistic mutants” hiding out in the woods, mountains, or desert – ready to kill off the outsiders passing through for their next meal. But it is a subgenre that is more expansive than that.

In this episode, I will walk through some of my complicated feelings with the subgenre and how it manages to often feature and completely ignore disability connected to its characters.

Shoutout to Horror Queers and their fantastic Patreon series on the subject (March 2021) for being my inspiration for this episodes. If you have the means and are looking for wonder content from two amazing people, please support them.
