Welcome to episode 2 of Anechoic Chamber: free-form audio devoted to new and under-explored ideas on the margins of arts and culture.

Our guest for this episode is Carl Abrahamsson. Abrahamsson’s multi-faceted approach to the issues of art, psychoanalysis and the occult has seen him working alternately as a photographer, filmmaker, musician, writer and editor. His long-standing interest in the esoteric origins of culture has resulted in artifacts such as the Fenris Wolf journal of cultural anthropology, and a series of documentary film portraits on subjects ranging from Kenneth Anger to Genesis P Orridge, collectively titled as “An Art Apart.”By using descriptive terms such as “highbrow lowlife,” Abrahamsson hints at an approach to life that neglects neither those elements which make for the most enduring popular culture, nor the intellectual rigor which defines more hermetic forms of research. The following discussion, while not exhaustive in scope, hopefully hints at some of the essentials of an eclectic yet focused worldview.
