And then with the business out of the way he opens up about what these vows really mean on an ultimate and individual level and why they are such a radical approach to life and morality, which inevitably becomes a deep dive into everything from the ultimate nature of breathing, a brief history of world philosophy, and why holding ourself to the ridiculous and impossible standard of the Bodhisattva vows is as simple and necessary as remembering to sit up straight instead of day dreaming about curry (or whatever your favorite zazen day dream is...).
