It's now 200 days til the IBSA World Games in Birmingham this summer. More than a thousand partially sighted or blind athletes competing in a dozen sports, with qualification for the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024 next summer up for grabs in three of the events - football, goalball and judo.In this episode of Great British Bosses, the podcast from Anything but Footy meeting the men and women behind sport in the UK, we hear from Event Director of the World Games John Timms - and his fellow MLS director Yuri Matischen about how they brought the event to Britain for the first time, their passion for Para sport, the building of a new basketball arena for their BBL team Sheffield Sharks and the development of the new 'Olympic Legacy Park' in Sheffield. Oh and Michael's now bidding for another Commonwealth Games in the UK as well as an Olympics! How did we fit it all in to half an hour? As Uri would say 'drive and passion'!
