Newer to the scene? Thinking about personal protection? I don't know anything about guns and I don't own any CAMO!! This 2 day course will help you understand the criminal mind and begin your MINDSET and self defense journey.
Experienced with many years of training? Diverse background in self defense? This systematic approach will challenge you to make good decisions and brush some cobwebs away!

This is a "thinking" class in the morning and a "doing" class in the afternoon. It is for ages 18 and above and is geared towards people with and without a GUN!!!!!

In William's fast-moving and interactive lecture participants will be led through contemporary theories and current, curated data on the process by which violent criminals select their targets for violent aggression. Particular attention will be paid to the internal mechanisms in play within the criminal psychology, the universe of signifiers around "good guy" behavior, demeanor, and attributes which may actually make selection for attack more likely, as well as considerations for responsible armed citizens to mitigate this risk. Previous iterations of this material have been presented to LE agencies and private citizen groups across the US as well as international LE educational events.

Brian will be focusing on a "lighter" version of The Complete Combatant with mild non-cooperative partners (NO COMBATIVES) and a layered approach on different aspects of self defense from the first sign of danger on up to interaction with the police.

William Aprill is a licensed mental health professional with over 15 years experience across the continuum of care. He presently maintains a private practice and consultancy specializing in post-traumatic interventions and other disciplines. Through his company Aprill Risk Consulting, William has presented his material on violent criminals and their decision-making, defensive incident aftermath, mindset development and defensive preparedness locally and nationally, including at the Annual Conference of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI), Rangemaster Tactical Conference, Tactical Response Alumni Weekend, and at Paul-E-Palooza, the memorial conference and fundraiser for the family of the late Paul Gomez.

William has been a popular guest on the firearms/training industry broadcast Ballistic Radio, and in 2014 Personal Defense Network will be releasing 2 DVDs of his training blocks on defensive decision-making and mindset development.
