FAA's Rules for Flying Over Roads and Vehicles

Today's question is about flying your drone over roads and vehicles.

Our caller for today, Greg has come up with a question that has considerable ambiguity surrounding it. Greg recently came across a prominent YouTuber who had posted footage that was captured while his drone was flying over roads and vehicles. As per Part 107 rules, is it illegal to fly your drone over roads and vehicles? And does FAA prohibit you from flying over moving vehicles as well as stationary vehicles? We answer Greg's question by explaining the FAA's rules in great detail. Further, we debate if the FAA needs to loosen up its laws as far as flying drones over streets and drones in concerned. Towards the end, we talk a bit about the FAA's remote ID NPRM and reveal how you can responsibly comment on this proposed rule.
