For Paul, the question of authority was not insignificant; as a relative newcomer to the gospel-preaching business, the Galatians not surprisingly doubted his authority in the face of other (it would seem) more appropriate authorities. Whence does our authority derive in our ministry? And, are we sometimes tempted to cede authority too readily rather than appeal to God's authority in the face of challenges from other "powers" in the world?
