Staying On Message - a podcast by Avondale UMC

Galatians 1:1-12 | Rev. Dr. R. Brandon Harris | We live in a world full of competing messages. Secular influences, spiritualism, political ideology, non-Christian religions, and consumerist worldviews are constantly barraging us with information about ourselves, about our world, and about our future. But, as Christians, we are those who have heard the gospel, which tells the truth about these aspects of life. The Galatians were among Paul's first proselytes; he preached a gospel of free grace from Jesus. Yet, the Galatians found themselves being pulled and tugged by competing messages from others, which taught the Galatians to anchor their faith in the law. Paul's letter to the confused Galatians, while very complex in itself, is apropos to the situation of the North American church. Do we remember the good news of grace? And, have we been able to stay on message?
