[5:19] Learnings from Marriage

You can choose to give up or not. There are moments that everybody fights and disagrees, but you cherish the moment you have with them.  The most important part of marriage is the commitment to each other—as a family.

[6:40] Splitting time to be successful

For a long time, I struggled to get through things. But what I realized is that prioritization makes a difference. And the things that you don’t finish today, they’ll still be there tomorrow.

[7:34] Developing Yourself

I struggled for a long-time, seeing value in myself looking at what I was doing. Raising good humans is one of the most important things we can do. I didn’t see it like that. I saw it as if I’m not making a difference at all.

[10:22] Choices in Life

I used to talk about myself negatively. I have a choice to be happy or miserable. I changed how I talk to myself and the things I say to others about myself.  I define success as happiness—it’s a choice.

[12:52] Experience from adopting kids

I focus on not allowing her kids to be “an island.” You need to have open conversations with them about the world around us and let it and ask them to talk about how they feel and experiences they had and find you know their self-esteem being proud of who they are. Ensure that we had this conversation about seeing color—because that’s part of who you are.

[17:16] Sharing thoughts with kids

Get them out there to talk about everything that you need to talk about. It is important to share stories because you can change someone’s mind. You can change the world; you can genuinely and positively impact the people around you.

[18:57] Triumph as a parent

Being friendly and with empathy, our family is built on these aspects. We are all human. It’s just the most important thing for me, and I want my children to be decent people and be raised as good people.
