Azi Podcast serves to educate people about different types of NGOs, NPOs and StartUps that are the heart of Young People through all walks of life. Thank you for taking time to listen to the Nineth Episode.

My Name is Azile Maka, in this Episode, I am having a conversation with Nwabisa Tandile Nkume, Managing Director of No Means No South Africa. No Means No Worldwide (NMNW) is an international non-governmental organization whose mission is to end sexual and gender-based violence against women and children globally. NMNW trains instructors in high-risk environments to deliver the proven No Means No curricula to girls and boys ages 10-20. Through the program, girls increase their skills in assertiveness, boundary setting, and understanding of their rights, and develop the verbal and physical skills to defend themselves from sexual assault. Boys increase their gender equitable attitudes, learn skills to defend equality, avoid violence, ask for consent, and intervene when witnessing or anticipating sexual assault.

NMNW launched a research and innovation ‘Hub’ in Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth), South Africa in 2020. In addition to providing important sexual violence prevention programming to young people in one of the hardest hit regions of South Africa, the No Means No South Africa Hub team is focused on innovation and management of longitudinal research that will examine the long-term impact and cost-effectiveness of No Means No and inform ongoing improvements to the programs.

Please Enjoy :)
