Recently I went on a ride with a good buddy that had brand new wheels and they had white spokes. When I first saw them, I thought that looks cool and thought no more about it. We've all seen painted spokes...No...big...deal. But then partially through the ride he mentioned they were made out of string and were not solid hard spokes and I knew I needed to reach out to the company that made them because I had lots of questions.
