From family sports film, to horny cartoons, this is week two of our Animation/ Live Action Hybrid Series! We are joined this week by the dynamic duo unmatched by even Brad Pitt and Kim Basinger, that is Cory Nels Jacobsen and Local Lou! Longtime friends of the show now must suffer the wrath that is the 1992 animated noir, Cool World.
Cool World stars Brad Pitt as ex-military now turned cartoon cop as he enters Cool World to stop any ”Noid” from having intercourse with a cartoon (yes this is the actual plot). When artist Jack Deebs sucked into the Cool World, he falls for his doodle in that of Holli Would (Kim Basinger). If the human and the cartoon do indeed have sex, then that the stake of humanity could be at stake.
The Box Office
The box office in the second week of July is STILL all about family. Black Widow dominates the weekend and takes first place with $80 million. Fast 9: The Fast Saga gets knocked down to second with $10.88 million. Moving down to number three is The Boss Baby: Family Business at $8.7 million. The Forever Purge drops to the number four spot with $6.71 million. Rounding out our top five is A Quiet Place Part II with $3.00 million.
The News
Matt Vaugh shows us that he is still about making films with a great ensemble cast. He announces his next picture will include Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, John Cena, Dua Lipa, Samuel L Jackson, Bryan Cranston, and Bryce Dallas Howard.
