It’s the final episode of our True Crime Series here on Back Lot 605. This week we discuss the 2019 Zac Efron lead film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, from director Joe Berlinger. In a month filled with mayhem and murder, we take a look at the story of one of the most notorious serial killers in United States history, Ted Bundy. As we finalize our true crime series, we also discuss our favorite movies and moments from the past month.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is director by Joe Berlinger, perhaps best known for his true crime documentaries including the Paradise Lost and Crime Scene series of films. The film is based on the novel by former girlfriend of Bundy, Liz Kendall (Lily Collins), and chronicles the trials of Bundy after his multiple arrests in the state of Utah and Florida. Bundy, a charismatic enigma, used his knowledge as a former law student, as well as his cunning intellect and charm to evade police for years, and win over followers of his trial. In his conviction, Bundy is sentenced to death for the murder of at least 30 women, while finally coming face to face with his former girlfriend Liz Kendall.
