The Box Office







Birds of Prey tops this week’s box office with a $33 million opening weekend. Bad Boys For Life continues strong with $12 million in the number two spot. At number three is the Oscar nominated 1917 with $9.2 million. Dolittle drops to number four with $6.5 million. Lastly, Jumanji The Next Level takes in $5.5 million.







The News







Ryan and Andy Tohill, directors of The Dig, have been tapped to direct the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. The film is produced by Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead). In further directing news, Side Effects director Matt Stawski will direct a musical monster film for Universal titled Monster Mash. Finally, Urban Legend is getting a remake to be written and directed by Colin Minihan (Grave Encounters).







Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Spider-Man) is being eyed by Marvel Studios to take on Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Raimi would be taking over for Scott Derrickson in the directing chair. Last piece of news, we get our first poster and trailer for the Chris Rock produced Spiral: From the Book of Saw.
