Welcome to the Back Lot 605 Podcast! In a busy week at the Back Lot studios, Casey and Brian are joined by Blake to discuss their favorite zombie movies! In honor of The Dead Don’t Die, The Schmuck Club breakdown their favorites from the undead genre. What are some of your favorite zombie movies?

The Box Office

The Secret Life of Pets 2 opens strong with a $47 million opening weekend edging out Dark Phoenix. The latest X-Men film opened with a underwhelming $33 million opening. Aladdin stays strong at number three with $24.5 million, bringing it’s total domestic gross to $232 million.

The News

John Cena has officially joined the cast for Fast and Furious 9. You can see him (maybe) in theaters with the Fast crew on May 22, 2020. A Magic 8 Ball movie is in the works at Blumhouse Productions. The studio has previously produced concept films like Ouija and Truth or Dare. 20th Century Fox drops the first trailer for the Christian Bale and Matt Damon lead film Ford v Ferrari.

Mel Brooks, Carol Burnett, Carl Reiner, and Betty White will cameo in Toy Story 4. The four legendary actors will be featured in undisclosed roles. The Jordan Peele produced Candyman reboot is set to address toxic fandom. The original 1992 film dealt with themes of racism and forbidden love. Finally, A24 releases a new poster for Ari Aster’s Midsommar. The poster parodies Coachella and other music festivals in the same light.
